| May 3, 2012

Quayside Shopping Centre have donated Ű400 to local primary school Our Lady of Mercy in aid of their library. As part of their ‘Love Local’ initiative asking the community to shop local, the Centre also wanted to support local, as Quayside’s marketing manager Christine Dolan told the Sligo Weekender.
“We hope this donation goes some way to helping the school buy much needed library resources. We are grateful to our customers and want to give back to the community, not only in the form of our charity contributions and our fundraising efforts, but also providing regular free events on the mall and various kid’s fun throughout the centre, which is very popular year on year.”
The Irish Cancer Society, Jack & Jill Foundation and The Bill W Club are just some of the charitable organisations that have benefited from Quayside’s donations. Launched in February, shopping local and supporting local jobs by personalising the customer experience is core to the Quayside’s ‘Love Local’ initiative.
