Van ‘the Man’ headlines sligo Live

Van Morrison will headline this October’s Sligo Live festival, the Sligo Weekender can reveal. Van will premiere an exciting new show when Sligo Live returns for an eighth year.In what promises to be a really special evening, Van Morrison will present a show entitled “Lyrics and Poetry: Emphasis On Words”.

This intimate performance on Sunday, October 28 at IT Sligo’s Knocknarea Arena will see Van Morrison accompanied by his rhythm section performing songs with a strong emphasis on words, together with readings from his poetry.

As well as previously unseen work by this prolific performer, songs from his albums, “Astral Weeks”, “No Guru , No Method, No Teacher” and “Hymns to the Silence” will also feature in this very special show.

Tickets to this one-off concert go on sale from www.sligolive.ie this Friday June 29 at 10am priced at €47.50 (plus €1 Service charge).

Numbers are strictly limited so don’t wait around. A limit of eight tickets per order will be in place.

Sligo Live will feature an exciting programme spanning six days over the October Bank Holiday Weekend, October 24-29. A limited number of weekend tickets (priced at €112 will enable music lovers to enjoy all of Sligo Live including Van Morrison and previously-announced headliner Joan Armatrading.
