A video showing one young man’s reaction to discovering that snow has stuck to the ground in Sligo overnight on Tuesday has garnered over 1 million views on Youtube.
The video, in which one Sligo man is telling the other to get out of bed and see the snow outside, is just over a minute long and was first posted on Tuesday of this week.
Since then the tide of views has turned into a tsunami, with many people sharing it on social media and several national news websites, including Joe.ie and The Journal.ie picking up on the video’s unprecedented and definitely hard to define popularity.
So far thousands of people have commented on the video, which is published on the Alan Lally Youtube account.
People can access the video by searching for ‘SNOWING IN SLIGO’. Warning: some colourful language is used.
