Sligo-North Leitrim politicians paid almost 3m since election

The TDs and Senators in the Sligo-North Leitrim constituency have between them been paid a total of almost €3 million in pay, expenses and allowances since they were elected in 2011.

In less than four years, from March 2011 to July 2014, the three Dail deputies and four senators have received a total of €2,963,080.

That’s according to figures published in the past week. They were provided by the Oireachtas and collated by the RTE Investigations Unit.

The salaries and other payments to the TDs, John Perry and Tony McLoughlin of Fine Gael and Sinn Fein’s Micheal Colreavy, have amounted to a total of approximately €1,555,989.
