SLIGO based band Tucan have announced the release of their second studio album.
The band have followed up their 2009 album Aliquot Strings with ‘Towers’.
Early listens to the album have ganered high praise with 2fm’s Dan Hegarty saying “Tucan have reinvented themselves, and created the beautiful ‘Towers’ album. They’ve brought us something
distinctly Irish, but not in the conventional sense.” The album, the band’s first in six years, marks the first recorded version of the now expanded band which includes brass and strings.
The album is produced by Torsten Kinsella (God Is An Astronaut).The band have described the new album as a new evolution for them, employing more cinematic elements.
The band will have the launch of their new album at Sligo’s 5th On Teeling from March 5 to 7.
