Together for just over a year Orchid Collective have been gigging relentlessly throughout Ireland and have worked tirelessly creating a fresh and exciting live show for their growing audience.  Mixing a combination of vocal harmonies and ambient soundscapes, akin to the likes of their inspirations, Villagers, James Vincent McMorrow and Bon Iver.

The band’s skilled musicianship is transferred to their impressive live shows, with stand-out performances at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Castlepalooza, Knockanstockan, Spirit of Folk, Glasgowbury, and the Galway International Arts Festival.

They supported Boston based Mutual Benefit on the Irish leg of their European tour and released their debut single ‘Figure It Out’ last year along with starting 2016 as Whelan’s “Ones to Watch”.   Their second single “Lay As Stone” released earlier this year received rave reviews and national radio exposure.

Orchid Collective return with their latest release entitled ‘Courage’, a cosmic 4 track EP which is set to release on October 21. Consisting of David O Shea (lead vocals, guitar), Shea Tohill (lead guitar, vocals), Hugh O’Neill (bass, vocals) and Brian Roony (drums, vocals) the band have been gigging relentlessly across Ireland, developing their unique sound and quickly making a name for themselves as an unforgettable live act.

Through their own distinct use of vocal harmonies and searing layers of reverbed guitars; Orchid Collective make themselves known as a band that set themselves apart from their contemporaries, offering a bold new imagining of the indie genre.

The Saw Doctors make a welcome return to Sligo Live where they will perform live at Knocknarea Arena on Sunday, 30th October 2016.  Tickets: Limited Seating €29.50 (plus service charge) / Standing €27.50 (plus service charge) are on sale now.
