A Sligo woman has been nominated for a top literary award.
Shelia Armstrong from Rosses Point has been nominated for the 44th annual Hennessey Awards for her short story entitled ‘Skins’.
Shelia is 25 years-old and is a graduate after studying in Dublin. Since finishing her studies, Shelia has worked as a freelance editor. The Hennessey Awards are split into three categories: First Fiction, Emerging Fiction and Poetry.
Shelia’s story has been nominated in the First Fiction category.
The nominees were chosen by judges Ciaran Carty, Martina Devlin and Xiaolu Guo. The awards ceremony will be held in Dublin on February 24.
