However, if you want to get tickets for this five-night run – from Tuesday to Saturday, February 17-21 – then you better not leave it to the last moment or you will find the ‘Sold Out’ signs going up.

Such has been the demand for tickets for this musical that already some of the nights are sold out, and for those which aren’t, just a handful of tickets remain. So don’t delay, call the Hawk’s Well Theatre box office now on 071-9161518 or visit the website (www.hawkswell.com) to book your seats.

Sweet Charity tells the story of dance hall hostess Charity Hope Valentine (played by phenomenal Sligo singer Karen Gordon), an eternal optimist who is forever unlucky in love.

Her trusting nature and naiveté makes her prey for a succession of opportunistic men. The razor-sharp script lifts the veil on the exquisite agony of living on the under-side of life. This is a comedy with an edge.

Directed by Aine Gilmore, with music direction by David Mc Evoy and choreography by Sarah Middleton, Sligo Musical Society promises to entertain you with a highly-theatrical, fast-paced and entertaining show, featuring such well-known musical numbers as “If My Friends Could See Me Now,” “Big Spender” and “Rhythm of Life”.

Please be advised that this show is rated 12PG so is not suitable for very young children. Tickets for the show cost €17 (€14 concession) and the shows start at 8pm nightly.
