HAVE you ever wanted to see the view of Sligo from atop Ben Bulben?
You can do so in spectacular fashion with the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team on July 16 this year.
The popular Night Walk event up Ben Bulben will be held that evening. Walkers will make the ascent to the summit of the iconic mountain and have a chance to take in the view from the mountain, a 360 degree panoramic, of Sligo.
Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team are a voluntary organisation who rely on the goodwill and generosity of the public to fund their team.
The Night Walk is their only organised fundraiser for the year.
Ciarán Davis, the chairperson of the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team, is eager to stress that anybody is welcome out and enjoy the night walk up Ben Bulben.
“It is for anybody to come out and do. There will be members of the mountain rescue team on hand to ensure that no one gets into any difficulty and also to offer guidance and assistance where needed. Also the pace of the walk will be set by the slowest person so we will go at a steady but very reasonable pace,” he said.
More details on the Night Walk and how to get involved can be found in this week’s Sligo Weekender newspaper- in shops now.
