Students and young people who set bonfires in a housing estate in Sligo town, then pelted missiles at Fire Service personnel as they attempted to extinguish the blazes.
High temperatures and sunshine led to student revellers partying in Glencarraig Estate, close to IT Sligo on Wednesday evening last, but this quickly escalated when furniture was taken from one of the properties and set alight on a small green area in the estate.
