Bridie was part of the 28-strong Irish team who attended the Transplant & Dialysis games in Vantaa, Finland. And her contribution to Team Ireland’s haul of 21 gold, 19 silver and 29 bronze was one of each!

This was the Sligo woman’s 10th Games to attend and she said she thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Bridie, a combined kidney and pancreas transplant recipient, had a very successful week taking an impressive medal haul of Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Darts and Petanque events.

Despite extremely changeable weather and heavy rainfall at the Championships in Vantaa on Monday and Friday, the determination and strength of the Irish athletes was consistent throughout.
